Sandstone façade
Sandstone is a typr of lime sedimentation stones which is composed of very small mineral ( about 0.0625 to 2mm). most of sandstones are made from quartz and feldspar and were made during the time due to the sedimentation of mineral materials in rivers and sea and under the pressure. Sandstones given their impurities in minerals have various colors, but generally are in gray, red, silver, brown, pink, white and black.
Sandstone specifications
• Sandstones given their raw materials, have soft or rough texture.
• Sandstones are resistive against freezing and weathering
• Given the high porosity of sandstone, its water absorption is relatively high.
• Silica sandstone has good resistance in acidic environment. But the lime type has low resistance against acid.
• Sandstone has high bending strength which make it possible to use them with lowe width. Therefore, the structure will be more lightweight.
